1938 Ahrens Fox
Ahrens Fox fire engines were manufactured by the Ahrens Fox Fire Engine Company. Even as early as 1850, Ahrens Fox had been building fire apparatus and vehicles, which were renowned for their power, sturdiness and durability. Today Ahrens Fox is a subsidiary of HME Incorporated, a leading manufacturer of heavy duty fire apparatus.
Some of the surviving Ahrens Fox fire engines were restored and highly valued by private collectors of antique fire engines. A group of Ahrens-Fox enthusiasts has set up an association whose charter is to preserve the surviving Ahrens Fox fire engines, and documented the legend of the Ahrens Fox company. Some of the members are also the proud owners of certain Ahrens Fox fire trucks.
Diecast models of the legendary Ahrens Fox fire engines are popular among collectors of diecast model replicas. The 1938 Ahrens Fox diecast are built to 1:24 or 1:43 scale. They are fully detailed, complete with all the trappings and accessories of a fire engine. They come in either red or yellow color, and encased in either a plastic display or window box..
1938 Ahrens Fox diecast models are sold at collectors sites and from suppliers and manufacturers of diecast and toy cars. One of the leading brands of diecast replicas is Corgi, created by the Mettoy Company of Northampton. Corgi 1938 Ahrens Fox models, if in good condition and complete with box, could fetch good prices on the collectors' market.
